Daniel presented his work on “Preparation and Characterization of Membranes Based on Graphene Oxide and Carbon Nanotubes for H2 Separation From Gas Mixtures” at Membrane Materials – Modification and Separation Conference (Torun, 6-8.9.2021). His presentation was awarded as 2nd Best Oral Presentation by Polish Membrane Society.

Karel (oral presentation) and Tereza-Markéta (poster presentation) participated at the Czech membrane conference Mempur 2021 focus on Membrane processes for sustainable development.

On 23.62021, Karel received the Professor Appointment Decree. The ceremony was held in Karolinum.

On 24.6. 2021, a session about Gas separation membranes was held as part of the International Membrane Webinar (ITM, CNR). Karel presented the lecture “Next-generation composite membranes for efficient gas separation” to an auditory of 60 participants.

Congratulations to Daniel Gardeno! He has successfully defended his master thesis “Preparation and characterization of membrane based on graphene oxide and carbon nanotubes”.

Saeed Ashtiani Jamali, our Ph.D. student, has been awarded by Emil Votoček scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to the best 20 Ph.D. students at UCT Prague and is mainly reflecting their exceptional publication activities.

Martina defended her Ph.D.  Thesis on 21st December 2020. Congratulation!

There was an online seminar based on the cooperation between Dr. Jason E. Bara (University of Alabama), Dr. Pavel Izak (Instittue of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the CAS) and Assoc. Prof. Karel Friess.  Karel presented the topic: “CARBON- & GRAPHENE-BASED MATERIALS FOR EFFECTIVE GAS MEMBRANE SEPARATION?”.

For excellent results and contribution in research, experimental development and innovations in the area of natural sciences, Karel Friess was awarded by Robert Plaga – Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of Czech Republic.
