Marek attended the Advanced membrane conference VII, ECI conference series in Cork (Ireland). He presented oral presenatation about recent progress with GO membranes and poster about Aging of PIMs. The poster presentation was awarded with the student poster award and by Journal of Apllied Polymer Science Poster Prize.

Our lab attended the conference CHISA in Prague. Karel Friess and Ondřej Vopička had oral presentations and Petr Číhal presented his poster.

Kryštof Pilnáček defended his Ph.D. thesis “Determination of transport of gases and vapours in high free volume polymers”

Miroslav Kludský and Marek Lanč participated at the European membrane society Summer school in Bertinoro (Italy). Many excellent educative presentatations were gave by top scientist from the whole Europe and USA about hot topics such as graphene, ILs or PIMs for membrane applications. Marek was awarded by EMS travel award to cover his traveling expenses.

Petr Číhal succeed at the Crytur award for the best master thesis in material science and placed at the 3rd place with his freshly defended master thesis “Sorption and diffusion of organic compounds in CTA-based polymeric blends”. Petr and his supervisor Ondřej Vopička received the award during the ceremony in Crytur company.

Karel Friess participated at the North American Membrane Society 26th Annual Meeting (Bellevue, WA USA) 2016. He talked about the High ionic liquid content membranes for effective biogas (CO2/CH4) separation. Afterwards, he met with our collaborators prof. R. Noble and prof. D. Gin at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Mirek Kludský and Petr Číhal succesffully defendend their master thesis and passed state exams. Congratulations!

Karel Friess participated at PERMEA 2016 conference with oral and poster presentations about the inovative approach of preparation of polyimide mixed matrix membranes and about the novel findings of gas sorption in PIMs, respectively.

Karel Friess participated at the International Conference on Chemical Technology, which was held between 25.- 27.4. 2016 in Mikulov (Czech Republic). He presented a work entitled “Mixed matrix membranes with ex-situ controlled embedding of tailor-made nano-additives for effective biogas (CO2/CH4) separation”.

In the period from 20 to 23 March 2016, Karel was invited by professor Ingo Pinnau to KAUST (King Abdullah University for Science and Technology http://kaust.edu.sa/ )He introduced to the audience our work via lecture titled Advances in mixed matrix membranes for gas separation: Tunable tailor-made nanoparticles and ionic liquids. During a visit, he also met and right with each other colleagues from the Department (Klaus-Viktor Peinemann, Yu Han, Bader Ghanem and Naveen Khashab). His stay was short but very interesting.
