Karel was appointed as a EMS Council Member back in 2021.
He was then chosen for a second term in 2023.
His second tenure ended this year january in Paris France, where he attended his last Council meeting.

Our traditional bowling teambuilding event, followed up by a special christmas dinner at our office! It is fun to be a researcher at our group 
This year we had two special visitors in this period:
1) Dr. Ruth Mendel from MIT who spent a month at our researcher group
2) BSc. Anela Kadiric from ENSIC – Université de Lorraine, who spent 6 months at our researcher group during her Master studies.
1st International Doctoral Conference on Advances in Chemistry, UCT Prague
Daniel was awarded with the Student Presentation Award at the section of Chemical Engineering.
Josef also gave an oral presentation based on his recent results at the section of Analytical Chemistry.
Workshop of students’ presentations 2024 by the Czech Membrane Platform
Jana was awarded with the Best Student Presentation Award.
12th year of the Workshop of students’ presentations by the Czech Membrane Platform was organized on 24th October 2024 in Straz pod Ralskem.
Daniel and Josef also gave a oral presentation based on their recent developments.
Daniel returned from FAU-TVT Erlangen where he spent 12 months as a visiting Ph.D. scientist.
He was one of the 30 scholarship recipients provided by the BAYHOST / BTHA organization.
Thanks to this year, our group made a strong connection with the researcher group of prof. M. Kaspereit and prof. M. Thommes, from FAU-TVT.
Our group participated at the Euromembrane 2024 conference, that was held for the first time in Czech Republic.
Daniel, Jana, Jordan, Josef, Karel, Lukáš and Ondra gave an oral presentation.

Daniel and Jana co-organized the NYM2024 international conference that was held this year in Prague UCT, briefly before the Euromembrane 2024 conference.
The NYM is dedicated primarily to create a network of young researchers, PhD’s, young professionals in the membrane separation field. It also included a excursion to Membrain (Mega), which is the biggest industrial R&D in this specific field.
Josef gave an oral of his results, while Daniel and Jana presented a poster.
